Home Funeral Practicum

Home Funeral Practicum
Weekend Retreat and Workshop
September 20 - 22, 2019
Plymouth NH

Learning the Art of Home Funeral

NHFREA offers weekend practicums to train individuals and future guides, spiritual and civic communities, and other groups about home funerals. If you have a group that is interested and space for the practicum, we will bring it to you; otherwise we offer an annual practicum homestay in Plymouth NH.

These weekends expand on the day-long workshops by offering more time for processing the mountain of information, networking with others who have a similar interest, and honing your skill set further, whether you intend to help others or learn enough to care for your own when the time comes. We keep the price low by inviting attendees to share food and kitchen duties in a relaxed, congenial home atmosphere.

To receive notifications of upcoming practicums or to request one in your area, email nhfrea@gmail.com or call 603.236.9495.

Practicums feature in-depth coverage of:
  • Funeral and disposition laws
  • Legal paperwork requirements
  • Procedures and protocols
  • Hands-on body care demonstrations
  • Exploring family traditions
  • Ceremony and ritual options
  • Forming community care circles
  • Becoming home funeral advocates
